This girl has got it all. She's so silly and playful she keeps us in stitches. We got Bella as an adult and it was a very trying first few months trying to integrate her into the household. I should say she had no problem with the transition, but she wanted all of our other dogs to disappear. That is the way it is I guess when it's a home situation and not a kennel. If we had a kennel, we just throw each dog in their own slot and walk away and no one would know how they got along. But when you bring in an adult dog into a home with other adult dogs, you've got to be on your toes and paying attention all the time to be sure there isn't a big brawl. Well there was no big brawl. Bella planted herself right next to me on the couch and told every other dog who came near to back off and they did. We thought ' oh brother', but in just a few weeks time, she had settled down and let the others come around and now, after more than a year, they all get along really well. Bella has been overeating and is starting to have a little pooch that makes her look a little pregnant all the time ! But she works it off by running laps around the house, over the couches and under the bed several dozen times a day. She's initiated group exercise time. Starts every afternoon about 1 or 2 and goes on until she's handily outrun every other dog in the house and leaves them laying around in piles on the floor. It's funny because she can outrun them one at a time until they are all exhausted and she's still ready for more. Play time ends when Bella collapses on the floor in a heap and starts snoring. She's so careless and wild when she's playing I'm afraid she's going to hurt herself. She runs into the cabinets, into the walls, into the doorways. She tries to leap from one couch to the other and falls in between. If you say to her Bella Calm Down......she turns it up a notch and runs away from you like a spoiled toddler. She's been a lot of fun. Bella has strong healthy babies and feels so secure in our home that at just a few days old, she leaves them and gets back in the bed with us! She's tried to put them in the bed with us at 1 or 2 days old, but I won't let her. So when forced to choose between sleeping in the bed with us or laying in the closet with her kids,,,,the choice is clear. She wants the BED! She does hop down and tend them several times, but she won't stay there with a warm bed 5 feet away. Silly girl !
